Description
Four postdoctoral research scholarships are offered by the Sainte-Justine Hospital Foundation for recent Ph.D's. One scholarship is offered in partnership with Mentor-Canadian Institutes of Health Research Training Program in Musculoskeletal Health. Sainte-Justine Hospital is the Mother & Child University Hospital Center of the Université de Montréal. The UHC Sainte-Justine Research Center offers a collaborative, stimulating working environment, which comprises clinically oriented and basic research components. Montreal, the 2nd largest city in Canada, is a vibrant, bilingual city with many cultural and recreational offerings
Deadline for application is March 31, 2009.
Eligibility requirements
Individuals awarded a Ph.D. degree no earlier than March 31, 2005 will be expected to integrate into any one of the research axes of the Center: brain diseases, feoto-maternal and neonatal pathologies, health outcomes, musculoskeletal diseases and movement sciences, metabolic health or viral and immune disorders and cancers. The program is open to both Canadians and citizens of other countries who have primary or additional research training. Language proficiency in English and/or French is required.
Scholarship
The annual scholarship is $50,000CAD for 3 years. A $15,000CAD independent research grant will also be awarded the first year.
Application Procedure
Applications must be received no later than March 31, 2009. The applicants will be pre-selected in May 2009 and invited to give a presentation at UHC Sainte-Justine within the week of June 15, 2009. The awards recipients will be announced at the end of June 2009. Travel expenses and accommodation will be covered by the Research Center.

Cover letter stating a short description of accomplishments, research interests and career goals.

A letter of support from the supervisor who will accept the candidate.
